Ballet for Young People
Ballet for Young People is a commitment in eliminating barriers to access to live arts performances.
Performed by the Miami City Ballet School Pre-Professional Dancers, Ballet for Young People is a series of interactive performances that are fun and engaging for all. With a dynamic live narration, the audience is captivated with dance and experiences fully costumed excerpts from the Ballet’s most enchanting and renowned repertory like: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the fiery Don Quixote and beloved holiday classic George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® — all inspired by great works of literature.
Audiences are gifted an educational guide with activities related to the history of ballet, the ballets performed and the exciting world of dance. Ballet for Young People is MCB’s community commitment in eliminating barriers to access in the arts.
Additionally, every December students are invited to a Student Matinee of Miami City Ballet’s George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker® through the M-DCPS Cultural Passport Program.
