Encuentros
The Encuentros are back! Thank you to all who provided answers to our survey. From your responses we’ve designed a FREE three-part series for ballet teachers across Latin America this season.
The series will develop and expand participant understanding of Miami City Ballet’s methodology, pedagogy and aesthetic. Each session will take place on a Friday morning at 10am. We hope you will join us for some ballet pedagogy with your morning coffee!
UPCOMING WORKSHOPS
- March 10th 2023 at 10AM EST: What to Teach at Different Ages?
- Miami City Ballet School Artistic Director Arantxa Ochoa hosts a demonstration with students from the school’s Student and Pre-Professional divisions, to show how our curriculum builds upon itself to progress dancers to the next level. The company’s Artistic Director Lourdes Lopez provides comments for participants in Spanish.Click here to register.
- May 19th 2023 at 10AM EST: MCB in Performance.
- To end the year’s Encuentros, participants can view excerpts of the company’s rehearsals of George Balanchine’s Square Dance and Symphony in Three, for which the company is known for, which gives participants the opportunity to see what they’ve learned in practice. Afterwards, participants break out in small groups to debrief what they’ve learned, what they’ll take with them to their studios and what they’d like to learn in future Encuentros.
